On Feb. 3, 2024, there will be a dance party for people with movement limitations such as Parkinson's, MS, ADCA, CVA or rheumatoid arthritis. Thereby it does not matter if you can walk, stand, sometimes suffer from frostbite or need a walker or wheelchair. If desired, you can join all exercises on a chair. We start the dance all seated anyway.

Dance party on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 2:20-4:00 p.m.
Hall open from 2-4:30 p.m.; free, tip jar at exit
Noorddamcentrum, Noorddammerweg 1, 1187CV Amstelveen

Because we would like to arrange a good spot with appropriate supervision for everyone, it is nice if you sign up in advance with Edwin Barentsen (06) 58825091 or dansfeestfebruari@bovenkerk.me.

The most important thing is dancing together. After all, dancing is so much more than just moving. Through imagination and the rhythm of the music, moving becomes so much nicer (and easier) to do. Moreover, dancing with a whole group or with a partner gives a feeling of togetherness and extra energy.Everyone can participate to their own ability. No one is perfect, but everyone is unique.

We will go "loose" to music, dancing rhythmically and freely with expected fun. These are the ingredients to experience the joy of movement and what it can do to you, and for your condition, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, posture and balance. Dancing will stimulate you in a different way, release extra energy and make you forget for a moment the daily challenges you have to deal with. Everyone can participate, regardless of age and mobility. Experience is not necessary, but is allowed.

The music is from Discotheque Charly, remember?

Discotheque Charly was a phenomenon in the 1970s in Bovenkerk and the surrounding area. DJs were allowed to spin every other week in the old clubhouse. The disco nights were invariably sold out in no time. Some young people came to get a stamp even before the church service so they could be sure to be there that night. Discotheque Charly takes us back to the 1970s. If you have a request song, please let us know.

DancePark

Led by passionate dance teachers Dido Mirck and Hugo de Graaf, dance is embraced as a means to liberate and empower people. DansPark provides a safe and inspiring environment where self-expression and body acceptance are central. These dance classes bring health, fun and freedom as dancers discover their creativity and experience the power of togetherness, space and music.

Song Multicolor by Son Mieux

Hugo de Graaf will rehearse with us a special dance to the song Multicolor by the group Son Mieux. It is our favourite song that we dance regularly in our lessons.
