The Parkinson Café Uithoorn is an accessible meeting place for people with the
disease of Parkinson(isms), their partners, family members and caregivers. In a
relaxed atmosphere they can connect with other fellow sufferers. The Café is an initiative of the Parkinson(ism) Association.
Themes
Each meeting focuses on a theme. The cafes in Uithoorn are guided by health professionals affiliated with ParkinsonNet, who provide you with solid information. Examples include "Parkinson's and the future" and "Parkinson's and exercise."
Meeting
From July 2024 we will meet 4x a year, mostly the first Tuesday of the quarter from 15:30 - 17:30. Locations are 2x a year in Uithoorn, 1x in Amstelveen and 1x in Kudelstaart.

Collaboration
The Parkinson Café Uithoorn is run by people with Parkinson's disease and their loved ones and supported by the Parkinson(ism) Association. There is close cooperation with the members of ParkinsonNet, SEZU, Amstelland Zorg, St. Bovenkerk, Motion and "Uithoorn voor elkaar". Uithoorn voor Elkaar is a partnership of Mantelzorg en Meer, MEE Amstel en Zaan, Videt Uithoorn, Tympaan De Baat and Participe Amstelland(www.uithoornvoorelkaar.nu).
Regional function
The Parkinson Café Uithoorn has a regional function. This includes the municipalities of Amstelland (Aalsmeer, Amstelveen (the former village Bovenkerk, the village of Nes aan de Amstel, part of the village of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, and hamlet De Zwarte Kat), Uithoorn and Ouder-Amstel), De Kwakel, Kudelstaart, the municipalities of the Ronde Venen (Abcoude with Stokkelaarsbrug, Amstelhoek with Mennonietenbuurt, Baambrugge, De Hoef with Kromme Mijdrecht, Mijdrecht, Vinkeveen with Achterbos, Baambrugse Zuwe, Demmerik, Donkereind, Groenlandsekade and Vinkenkade, Waverveen with Botshol, Gemaal and Nessersluis and Wilnis with Aan de Zuwe and Geer), Municipality of Nieuwkoop (Nieuwkoop, Ter Aar, Nieuwveen, Noorden, Woerdense Verlaat, Zevenhoven, De Meije, Vrouwenakker, Noordeinde, Korteraar and Langeraar, Aardam, Papenveer and Noordse Dorp).
