Saturday, July 15 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. the annual Summer Festival will be celebrated at Bovenkerk in Urbanuspark. It again promises to be quite a happening with activities for young and old, the fair, snacks and drinks and of course lots of music, with one of the highlights being the official premier of a new song for and about Bovenkerk.
Song 'Ode to Bovenkerk'
What is Zomerfeest Bovenkerk without music? July 15 visitors can enjoy Samba group Bovenkerk, the Amstel River Singers, the Acoustic Heeren, the Bonus Band and the act "Zingt allen mee met Wanda B." (smartlappen). For the youngest visitors, the band Flapuit will perform swinging songs for toddlers.
During the Summer Festival there will be a special first! Especially for the village Marcel Besselink (well-known musician from various (Bovenkerk) bands) composed the song 'Ode to Bovenkerk'. He also wrote the lyrics. At 17:00 this song will be performed live for the first time. And of course everyone may sing along at the top of their lungs.
All Bovenkerk Bakes
Participants in Heel Bovenkerk Bakt can deliver their cake, cakes, cupcakes, etc. to the tent in the Urbanuspark between 2:30 and 3:00 pm. The very expert jury of Pastry Chef Arnold Cornelis will judge all the goodies. Sign up by e-mail to Lex Koot (lex.koot@ziggo.nl).
Cozy neighborhood barbecue
In addition to coffee and tea with cake during Heel Bovenkerk Bakt, there will be plenty to eat and drink during the Summer Festival. The volunteers of Together Eating also organize a cozy neighborhood barbecue, also vega (€10.00 for adults and €5.00 for children).
Fair and all sorts of things for kids
The fair is definitely worth a visit. The stalls offer something for everyone. And children will not be bored either. Various activities are organized, such as a real design contest for an Bovenkerk flag. And there is a real soap slide.
