From October 2023 through mid-May 2024, we had the Warm Room every Monday morning. A morning that you start with a cup of coffee/ tea, continue with games and finish with a delicious cup of soup.
The games range from shuffleboard, Gurling and course ball to all kinds of board games, such as Don't Worry or Keezen. The participants spontaneously choose what they like to do that morning. Sometimes they bring a new game from home. Anything goes!
The soup is made by volunteers. One makes soup with balls, the next does culinary delights, then we have a specialist snert and lentil soup, or yet another makes delicious cheese soup with German character. Special was that time when a witch's soup was served.
During the closing ceremony, the volunteers who made soup were highlighted. Four golden soup spoons were awarded this year by none other than chairman Rob van den Helder. All soup makers were inspired with a soup book for the next season.
Based on an idea by Mieke Regeling, participants and soup makers jointly created a work of art for the Guild of the Golden Soup Spoon. This artwork will be hung in the Noorddam Center as a tribute to the volunteer work of the soup makers.
