On Saturday morning, July 15, the Hermanns family was lured to the rectory with a subterfuge. Reason was very special, because the name of the tower museum was unveiled and it is dedicated to Frans Hermanns.

Chairman of the Friends Foundation, Hans Zandvliet, gave a nice speech after which a list explaining the naming of the museum was presented to Thea, wife of Frans Hermanns.

Text on frame:

Franciscus J. Hermanns (1943-2015) made an exceptional effort to preserve St. Urbanus Church in Bovenkerk.

Among other things, from 2010 until his death in 2015, as a member of the restoration committee, he was very closely involved in the radical restoration of this church. Unfortunately, he did not live to see the completion of the 2016 restoration himself.

It was his idea to create a museum in this tower. For this reason and because of his great merit of St. Urbanus Church, his name was given to this museum.

This museum thus forms a lasting reminder of this extraordinary man to whom Saint Mary's Parish and the Friends of the Bovenkerk Urban Foundation are permanently indebted.

Then most people went into the tower to hang the frame and reveal the name. Those left behind were able to follow this ceremony with the help of video bubbles below.

This beautiful moment was celebrated with a cup of coffee and cake.
