It started with the summary proceedings KLM and IATA filed against the State. On April 5 came the result. The judge ruled in favor of the airlines. The State may not reduce the number of flights at Schiphol from 500,000 to 460,000 for the time being.

The State appealed this ruling, and on May 23 RBV was given the green light by the judge to participate as an interested party. This appeal will be heard on June 21 in the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.

Initially, it was still unclear whether RBV could be of the party again. After all, there are also proceedings on the merits against the State. On top of the legal costs for this case, there were also the costs for the appeal. Their appeal to support RBV was definitely not deafening. Neighbors, local political parties, associations and residents' platforms, including Stichting Bovenkerk, responded quickly and donated generously. The RBV board is extremely grateful.

The appeal will be live June 21 on RBV's website https://www.beschermingtegenvliegtuighinder.nl/
