Saturday, July 13, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Urbanus Park will host the annual Summer Festival Bovenkerk . This time the theme of the party is the Olympic Games. For one day Bovenkerk will be a real Olympic village including fun sports activities for young visitors. In addition, interested parties can also drop by again this year for Heel Bovenkerk Bakt, the fair, the barbecue, delicious snacks and drinks and various performances.
Friday night opening ceremony
Olympic Games, of course, include an opening ceremony. This will take place on Friday evening, July 12, from 7 p.m. onward. The children will then carry a torch in procession through Bovenkerk and "present" themselves to the public in their sportiest outfit. Gather at Urbanus Park.
Children's Games

The Summer Festival bursts into life Saturday afternoon, July 13, at 2 p.m. in the Urbanus Park. That is also when the Bovenkerk Olympics for the children start. They may officially open "the games," raise the Bovenkerk flag and participate in a breakdance class and various sports games. As the national anthem, the song 'Ode to Bovenkerk' composed last year especially for Bovenkerk will be sung.
Parents, friends and family can of course come to cheer and enjoy the celebration with the fun fair.
Fair and performances

The fair is well worth a visit. This year there are 40 stalls offering something for everyone.
And what is a Bovenkerks party without music? There is a varied program for young and old. The following bands will perform:
- The Rakers
- Itchycoo Park
- Flap (music especially for small children)
- Bonus Band

All Bovenkerk Bakes
Participants in Heel Bovenkerk Bakt deliver their cakes to the tent in the Urbanuspark between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. The expert jury from confectioner Arnold Cornelis will judge all the goodies. Afterwards, everyone may taste the cakes while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee.
Cozy barbecue
Besides coffee and tea with cake, there will be all kinds of food and drinks during the Summer Festival. The volunteers of Together Eating also organize a cozy barbecue (meat and vega, €10.00 for adults and €5.00 for children, sign up at bpbovenkerk@gmail.com).
