Until recently, you had to walk or bike at least 1.5 km to get to a drugstore or pharmacist, and the Asserring Pharmacy's medicine vault changes that.
The medicine vault is near Dr. Göbel's general practice Bovenkerk and the weekly market on the back terrace of the Noorddam Center. Right in the heart of Bovenkerk where many people congregate. The medicine safe is filled daily and customers can pick up their medications there if they wish. With this, Bovenkerk again has a well-stocked drugstore/pharmacist in the village.
It is ideal for working people. They can pick up medications outside their working hours 24/7 and no longer have to stand in line or visit the pharmacist. There is good parking. It is also a godsend for local residents or regular visitors to the Noorddam Center and the weekly market.
Case study
A doctor or a specialist writes a prescription that is received digitally at the pharmacy. It is known in the pharmacy's basic records whether delivery may be made through the device. The medication is loaded into the device by the pharmacist. Upon filling, the customer receives a message with an access code to pick up the medications. The customer picks up the medications at their preferred time.
Festive commissioning
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024 Alderman Marijn van Ballegooijen together with Hilda Buenting-Nazaretyan and Edwin Barentsen inaugurated the medicine safe. The festive moment was celebrated with bubbles and cake and for the coffee soos there were goodie bags for all participants.
