Why parkinsonian chair yoga!
Chair yoga is the simplest form of yoga if exercises on a mat are too heavy or no longer possible for you. Chair yoga is a gentle form of movement and therefore achievable for everyone. Your age, size, flexibility, mobility or fitness are not important. You do not have to exercise intensively. Everyone can participate. You listen to your body and follow your own pace.
Good against excessive tension
The pressures of work, relationships and social expectations make it easy to build up more stress than you'd like. Stress is a natural reaction. It increases alertness, speeds up your heart rate and gets your body ready to respond. Yoga helps you deal with it better.
Yoga is helpful for finding inner calm and developing your awareness. You learn to be present in the moment, to pay attention to your breathing and to detach from the tension of daily life. To do this, you apply a series of exercises with your body, your breathing and mental exercises.
We see chair yoga as a method to bring balance into your life.
The clinic
People with Parkinson's disease can try chair yoga in an accessible way through the clinic to see if chair yoga is for them. The clinic is held for a group of about 10 participants.
