Last Saturday, the second edition of Lentepop took place at the Noorddamcentrum in Amstelveen. The event drew a large crowd, who enjoyed an evening of live music and a great atmosphere.
The bands performed entirely for free
Six bands took the stage throughout the evening, each with its own unique sound and style. From energetic rock and captivating pop to surprising covers and original songs, the lineup offered a great showcase of local musical talent. The performances made for a dynamic and varied evening.
What makes Lentepop special is that all the bands performed for free. In doing so, they underscore their commitment to this local initiative and their desire to work together to foster a vibrant cultural scene in Bovenkerk Amstelveen.
Support for the Amstelveen City Fund
Lentepop was made possible thanks to the efforts of volunteers from Poppodium Bovenkerk, the Noorddamcentrum, and the Bovenkerk Foundation.
In addition, the organization has recently begun receiving support from the Amstelveen City Fund. This support is seen as an important recognition of the value of Poppodium Bovenkerk the local community. According to the Amstelveen City Fund, the venue contributes to social cohesion, provides a platform for local talent, and fosters cultural development and community engagement.
With this successful second edition, Lentepop has cemented its place as a regular event in Amstelveen. The organizers are therefore looking forward to the next edition with confidence and enthusiasm.
A look ahead at upcoming events
The Bovenkerk music venue Bovenkerk busy and looking ahead to a series of new events. On Sunday afternoon, April 19, the venue will host its first-ever Jazz & More event at the Noorddamcentrum. Doors open at 3:00 p.m., and admission is free.
In addition, Poppodium Bovenkerk will provide the music for the Summer Festival in Urbanuspark in Bovenkerk Bovenkerk Saturday, June 27. Later in the year, on the evening of Saturday, October 3, Herfstpop is scheduled to take place at the Noorddamcentrum. Just like at Lentepop, visitors can look forward to six (cover) bands performing on two stages, with free admission.
Through these activities, Poppodium Bovenkerk remains Bovenkerk to Bovenkerk a vibrant and accessible cultural program in Bovenkerk Amstelveen.
About Poppodium Bovenkerk
Poppodium Bovenkerk grew out of the teams that organized the band nights Young Urbanus and Rock Urbanus for many years. The poppodium aims to give starting and experienced musicians the opportunity to perform at a variety of events.
The home base is the Noorddamcentrum (Noorddammerweg 1, Amstelveen). Poppodium Bovenkerk is part of residents' platform Stichting Bovenkerk and is run entirely by volunteers, including music teachers and musicians with a professional background. For its events, the pop podium collaborates with rehearsal spaces, music schools and music teachers in the Amstelveen region.
