Singing together is not only fun and relaxing. It is also good for the brain. Neurologists and neuropsychologists have discovered that singing in particular is beneficial and stimulating for the well-being of people with Parkinson's disease. This is evidenced by the success of a large choir led by the inspired speech therapist and conductor Emiel Hoefnagel.
Singing to music trains your breathing, stimulates the production of endorphins, and releases extra dopamine. Your voice becomes more powerful, your articulation improves, and your motor skills, walking, and balance are enhanced. It relaxes you and gives you energy. Let's be honest, who wouldn't want that?
