Residents who are eligible for the municipal insulation subsidy can count on personalized assistance. The Energieloket’s neighborhood team goes door-to-door to explain the program, answer questions, and provide assistance. This makes it easier for residents to apply for the subsidy, save energy, and improve their living comfort.

The municipal insulation subsidy is intended for residents and homeowners’ associations (VvEs) who want to improve the insulation of their homes. Residents who qualify for this subsidy will receive a letter from the municipality containing a home code. The Energy Help Desk can then assist these residents in taking the necessary steps. The neighborhood team will visit them at home for this purpose. They will carry identification and can be recognized by their red jackets bearing the municipal logo. “Many residents initially think there’s a catch. But when they see that the municipality is actually providing a €1,600 subsidy for insulation, they’re often pleasantly surprised,” says Toufik Altun of the Energy Help Desk’s neighborhood team.

A Personalized Approach Helps

Lennart de Looz, the alderman for sustainability, spent an afternoon with the neighborhood team: “It’s wonderful to see the level of knowledge and dedication with which the neighborhood teams help residents. Many people would like to insulate their homes better, but don’t always know where to start or what options are available. That’s when it’s helpful to have someone there to brainstorm with them. That’s exactly why this personal approach is so valuable. Because often, just a few smart measures can make a home more comfortable and lower the energy bill.”

Combining Grants

In addition to the municipal insulation subsidy, there are other options for financing sustainability measures. These include, for example, the national Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy and Energy Savings (ISDE) and the municipal energy-saving subsidy.

Practical Information
