Wednesday morning, Sept. 17, coffee drinking at the Noorddam Center marked its 10th anniversary. Roelie Wierenga was there 10 years ago when this beautiful Bovenkerk initiative was born. Loes Stokman started it 8 years ago. Both ladies are active as weekly volunteers. Reason for alderman Marijn van Ballegooijen and chairman of the Bovenkerk Foundation to award both ladies with a silver charm of a coffee cup and a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Every week about 40 participants come for a cup of coffee or tea. And in between, all the ups and downs are shared. Afterwards you do a little shopping at the market. It contributes to more fun, happiness and togetherness.
