On Thursday, Jan. 16, a group of about 20 people joined the Boem at the Bindery for coffee. They were people from the day care, residents and volunteers from the Zonnehuis Bovenkerk. Most have not been to a thrift store in years. They walked to the Boem and were warmly welcomed with coffee and some goodies. It was a great success and we will definitely repeat it.
Prick Brigade
Normally this group walks through the neighborhood Bovenkerk. They are known as the prikbrigade. Because while walking, litter is cleaned up. It is the group with the bright yellow and orange vests on Thursday mornings.
The Boom Cafe
The Boem has a coffee corner "the boem café" where visitors can meet. Director Sven says "If we can connect people from the neighborhood, we want to play a role in that." This is how the company came up with the idea of inviting the prick brigade as one of the first. The staff also lunch in the same room, so we still need to find something on that.

Connecting residents and businesses to Sun House Bovenkerk
Silvia, who coordinates the activities of the Sun House Bovenkerk , seeks to connect with the neighborhood. This can be done by becoming a volunteer or businesses that contribute in some way to the pleasure happiness of these people.
Focusing initiatives on what residents want and can do
Silva indicates "It's so beautiful how everyone interprets that differently again! And we anticipate that. Albert Heijn regularly gives flowers for the home. The Boem today offers an outing for the prick brigade. There are many wonderful initiatives for the Zonnehuis Bovenkerk. Everyone is doing something! And what do you do?"
