On the weekend of May 24 and 25, 2025, we in Bovenkerk will celebrate the 150th anniversary of our beautiful Urbanus Church. The Friends of the Bovenkerk Urbanus Foundation is organizing a festive weekend to celebrate this together with all subsidizers, volunteers and donors of the Foundation and the church plus all lovers of fine music. The program looks broadly as follows.
Saturday, May 24
A wonderful musical "Parade" of all kinds of musicians, orchestras, bands and choirs who have a special connection with the Urbanus Church, either because they are/were based in our village, and/or because they regularly perform in our church. We are still working things out, but it promises to be something special. The highlight will be a spectacular performance by singer Giovanca and her accompanists! This Parade starts around noon and ends sometime in the evening. When the program is known we will publish it widely. Note: really everyone is welcome to walk into the church and enjoy festive music, soulful gospel, beautiful solos by classical singers and delightful choral singing.

Sunday, May 25
On Sunday we have scheduled a beautiful organ concert after Mass that morning. However, we do need to mention some caveats in this. The large organ must of course be in picobello order. The organ builder and many volunteers are working hard on this.
