2nd Seniors Festival

The Amstelland Senior Orchestra, conducted by Dominic Sierat, was founded on January 13, 1983, and currently consists of 55 musicians. The orchestra is open to anyone who plays a wind instrument at a reasonable level and is able to rehearse during the day. Rehearsals are every Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Dorpshuis De Nesse in Nes a/d Amstel. Don't hesitate to come and meet us; who knows, this might be something for you too. Horn players, clarinetists, and an all-round percussionist are currently especially welcome.
The orchestra performs at senior citizen festivals, in churches, care institutions, and wherever we are welcome. We try to fulfill a social role by performing at the lowest possible cost with a varied program, taking into account the audience and the venue where we play.
The orchestra has been participating in senior festivals for many years. In 2025, we organized the first edition of the SeniorenFestival Amstelland. This proved to be an extremely successful event and demanded more. These festivals are always organized on a weekday, and because the participating orchestras are all daytime orchestras, the festival will take place on Wednesday, March 25. An excellent opportunity for brass music lovers and enthusiasts.
