On May 19, 2025, the bike 4-day and weekly cycling will begin on Thursday mornings. The North Dam Center is the pick-up and drop-off point. During the vacations, we will continue as usual. Everyone is welcome to join! The activity is free and there is no need to sign up in advance.

Bike groups will leave at 9:30 a.m. and return no later than 11:30 a.m. The North Dam Center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (even if the weather is bad) for meetings between all cycling groups. Before departure and after entering, cyclists can enjoy coffee and apple pie.
The Amstelveen bike 4-day
The Amstelveen Bicycle 4-Day is from May 19 to May 22, 2024. As the name implies, we will go on a bicycle tour 4 days in a row. You can choose from a 20 or 30 kilometer tour. Then weekly cycling will start on June 5, 2024.
Bicycle groups and safety
There are different groups depending on the type of bike and fitness level. Safety is paramount while cycling in groups. Therefore, there are additional instructions to encourage safe behavior. These include information on wearing a bicycle helmet, the bicycle mirror, special vests for the supervisors of the cycling group and a bicycle bag for emergency assistance (bicycle pump, a tool kit, an AED and first aid kit).
Keep pedaling until you are 100
Doortrappen is a national program to help people over 55 cycle longer, more safely and with more fun. Eight municipalities in Transport Region Amsterdam are part of this program, including Amstelveen. Doortrappen motivates elderly people to take their own measures to keep cycling safely. They do this with the help of practical cycling tips, useful exercises to stay flexible and fun activities in Amstelveen.
