On Saturday evening, April 5, Poppodium Bovenkerk will host Lentepop, a new music festival at the Noorddamcentrum in Amstelveen, for the first time. The event offers an evening of live music on two stages, featuring six regional bands. Admission is free, and the venue opens at 7:30 p.m.

Six bands on two stages

Spring Pop brings a varied program featuring both young talents and experienced musicians. The repertoire consists of covers and own work in different styles, including pop, rock, blues, disco and soul. Some bands previously performed at the band nights Rock Urbanus and Young Urbanus, the predecessors of this event.

The bands performing on April 5:

  • The Rakers - An energetic band with an immersive live show. Their first single "Breaking Everything I Have" can be heard on Spotify and elsewhere.
  • The After Party - Plays arranged (dance) covers and their own songs.
  • Wanda and the Bovenkerk Boys - Brings a mix of rock, new wave and sing-alongs, with lots of audience interaction.
  • Up The Attic - Gives familiar hits a new, surprising interpretation.
  • Lemon Curry - A band that appeals to a wide audience with a varied repertoire and energetic performance.
  • Big Time - A funk/acid-jazz band from Platform C, which has previously performed with artists such as Ntjam Rosie, "Miles Rock's" and Hans Dulfer.

Spring Pop is made possible in part by the Bovenkerk Foundation and the Noorddam Center.

About Poppodium Bovenkerk

Poppodium Bovenkerk grew out of the teams that organized the band nights Young Urbanus and Rock Urbanus for many years. The poppodium aims to give starting and experienced musicians the opportunity to perform at a variety of events.

The home base is the Noorddamcentrum (Noorddammerweg 1, Amstelveen). Poppodium Bovenkerk is part of residents' platform Stichting Bovenkerk and is run entirely by volunteers, including music teachers and musicians with a professional background. For its events, the pop podium collaborates with rehearsal spaces, music schools and music teachers in the Amstelveen region.
