The routes were created via nodes. For each distance there is a PDF with the maps for the junction point and the Bikepointer. There is also a gpx file of the route. This file can be read into most bicycle computers. There are four distances:

Special action on finals day

Doortrappen Amstelveen is giving a nice souvenir to all cyclists who have been present every day this week. What that is remains a surprise. It promises to be a noisy finale.

General information

Participation: Free walk-in, free of charge and no registration. Arrival and departure at the Noorddam Center, Noorddammerweg 1 in Amstelveen.
Boarding: All groups gather outside. Note the colored helmets in your choice of favorite group and departure time. Bike pumps are located near the door. Park bikes in the area marked with cones. Racing bikes can be parked in the Noorddam Center.
Risk: Participation in this event is at the participants' own risk.
Group Safety: Preferably for the safety of yourself and others, wear a bike helmet, a yellow vest and use a bike mirror.
Guidance: Each group will have two guides: someone to set the route and speed and a broom bike. Both wear a helmet with a rain cover in the color of their group. The broom bike has a pannier for emergencies (first aid, repair kit, bike pump, dry cloth, bottle of water, dextrose and repair gloves). Racing cyclists do not have a pannier (own equipment).
Latecomers: These can request the route of their favorite color from manager Hans and can cycle it in the opposite direction. They will meet their group about halfway and can rejoin.
En route: In case of calamities the group will continue cycling and the broom bike will stay with the calamity. The cyclists involved in the calamity try to solve it independently. If they cannot, they can call:

  • Unwell or injured: call 911
  • Cattle trappers have their own emergency number
  • Amstelveen Sport for pickup with van during bike 4-day event
  • Bicycle damaged or flat tire: ANWB bicycle assistance and become a member immediately

Weather conditions: In case of strong wind or rain, there will be no cycling. The North Dam Center will be open to meet then, however.

Bicycle routes

The bicycle routes are plotted with bicycle junctions. Through the website, the routes are available for node holders and as a GPX file. The GPX file can be read into a variety of smartphone devices and apps that offer bicycle navigation. The routes are public via Garmin Connect and Strava. Then search for F4D1, F4D2, F4D3 and F4D4.
