SUMMARY:Memorial Concert on May 4 at St. Urbanus Church
DESCRIPTION:On Monday, May 4, 2026, the Latin Parish Choir “Cantemus Dominum” will organize the May 4 memorial concert for the 13th time. For the first time, due to our move from the Augustinus Church in Amsterdam-Buitenveldert, this event will Bovenkerk at our new home base in the Urbanus Church Bovenkerk .\nThis year, Joseph Gruber’s “Second Requiem in C minor” is the main program. The concert’s theme is the occupation of Amstelveen during World War II, featuring texts from the book “Years of Darkness,” which will be recited between musical pieces. This year, 15 four-meter-long banners based on the theme have been painted by students from the 8th grade of Sint Jozef Elementary School and the 7th grade of De Triangel Elementary School, which will adorn the side walls of the church. At the end of the memorial concert, a collection will be taken for “War Child” to benefit children in war zones.\nTickets are available via the link below.
